THE YAMAHA SUPERTANK (The Australian Travelling Fishing Show) is coming to Darwin!!!! The Supertank is a 13 metre long, 5 metre high glass fishing pond holding 14,500 litres of water with live fish. Regular shows throughout the weekend will show you exactly how different lures work and which ones work best in different areas under different conditions.
HOOK LINE AND SINKER The Festival will have Nick Duigan and Andrew Hart from the TV show Hook Line and Sinker entertaining the crowds with their tall tales and true. We all know that TV fishing shows are a dime a dozen, but Hook Line and Sinker is different. Featuring two guys who don't pretend to know everything about fishing but capture all the fun and shenanigans as they tour around the country, fishing all the hotspots - not always catching, but always coming back with something entertaining!
DAVE HODGE – HODGIE THE BAREFOOT FISHERMANALEX JULIUS one of Australia's best-known fishing media identities and the foremost authority on fishing tropical North Australia, will be at the Fishing Festival to give both novice and expert anglers the low down on the run off. Whilst you're there why not check out his stall and pick up the latest NAFA magazine and Barramundi OK triple DVD set, and find out about the award-winning Arnhemland Barramundi Nature Lodge.
105.7 ABC DARWIN- TALES FROM THE TINNY BOYS, Rob Smith, Tim Moore and Morgan Hartney will be at the Festival on Saturday having a yarn and interviewing people for their show. Make sure you come and say g'day.
FISH WHISPERERS invade the Top End Fishing FestivalRICK TRIPPE is the keenest spear fisherman in
DARWIN FLY RODDERS will be conducting fly casting demonstrations during the festival along with fly tying. Members of the club will also be on hand to answer any questions in relation to fly fishing, especially fly fishing up here in the Top End. There will be a fun fly casting competition for the kids too. So if you have ever wondered about this type of fishing come over to the Darwin Flyrodders exhibit and have a chat. They may just be able to change your mind from fishing the "dark side' (lure fishing) to this fabulous sport call fly fishing.
